In I Peter 3, we are told that holy women like Sarah submitted themselves to their husbands.
And that, biblical scholars, may be the one of the most heavily-used verses when it comes to the subjugation of women.
Except it’s not quite as cut-and-dried as all that.

This stuff just makes me angry at the Bible. But really, this is just the way it was a few thousand years ago. Heck, women just gained the right to vote 89 years ago. Women were just property back in the Bible days. What is beyond belief is that some people TODAY think we should continue to live as they did 2000+ years ago. That makes me really angry.
And if they feel they have scriptural backing, all the better! I really like Christians for Biblical Equality, as a web site, though. They’re seeking to interpret the Bible in the context in which it was written.
