This has been the weather in my neighborhood for more than 40 days and nights

July 3, 2009 · 8 Comments

At least, it feels like it’s been that long. I don’t remember it not-raining.

In the interim, I’ve read every book I can get my hands on.

I’ve weeded gardens during the relatively few dry intervals.

I’ve (shudder) cleaned house.

I’ve gone through closets and bagged and tagged.

I’ve gone out and hiked, anyway. And still it rains.

Make it stop, somebody. It’s supposed to be clear tomorrow, but I have lost all trust in the weather forecast, because right now, it’s 30-percenting on the laundry I put out on the line.

Golf-ball sized hailstones here in this vacation spot yesterday…. Sunny-cloudy-sunny-so-I-get-ready-to-go-out-and-paddle-but now cloudy today.

Man! That’s not right in a vacation spot. There oughta be a bubble over it or something. Hope it clears enough for you to get out and paddle soon.

Got out at 5:45. Fairly hazy, but cormorants and swallows and swans and gulls of course and one heron. And a sweet but lackluster sunset. Still, I could SEE a sunset instead of rain/fog/hail/cats’n'dogs……..

I know! What’s up with all this rain?! I’m going to go mad, I tell you. Every single time I try to go to the store to replace all the food I had to throw out last week from that storm, a thunderstorm comes up. Like right now. GAHHHH. I actually did finally go to the store earlier this week (and a thunderstorm started–naturally), but I need to go again. Gahhhh. I swear, I’m gonna finally use that stupid Peapod thing, even though the minimum order is $60.

(You needed this information. You did.)

Sun is shining, albeit weakly, in the Berkshires this morning. I’m fearful that I’m developing moss on my North side. Mine, not the houses!

And it’s pretty here, too! I just got back from a hike with my neighbor. I’m not sure how to act with it all shiny and stuff.

That’s a good sign, right? Supposed to be pretty here today and I’m heading out for a hike with my neighbor. Hope you have good weather, too.
