When I moved here it was clear that one of the trees was dead and needed to be taken down. I had the tree-taking-down people leave a tall stump so I could string a hammock between it and a live tree. That was 16 years ago. I still have no hammock. I also bought a yard umbrella and stand — they’re both still in their boxes in the garage.

Y’know, I made my winter hammock for less than $10. It’s really kind of hard to feel any sympathy or empathy for the two of you.

Well, it’s a rope hammock and one of the ropes has come undone, but it’s weathered. Does your umbrella look like it’s been left out in the elements for 10 or so years?
