Made you look (but you have to read all the way to the end).
Bill Maher suggests we don’t make everything all about profit. Bill Maher is skating dangerous close to early Christianity — which might frighten him, given his work on last year’s “Religulous.”

Well you KNOW I love this. I’ve never had a fire in my house, and my taxes pay for the fire fighters — hmm. Definitely socialism. And I don’t have kids, but my taxes pay for local schools. Damn socialism! And don’t get me started on libraries!
Wasn’t Maher maybe ridiculing the extremes to which religions can sometimes go, in “Religulous?”
He just might have been. I wanted to like “Religulous,” but I felt like he picked the low-hanging fruit-types (not all of them, but a large number of the people on camera were pretty fringe, if you ask me). He could have done an equally interesting job going more mainstream but did he call for my input? No. He did not.
Maybe by the next time he will have learned. Maybe you (and we) should tell him.
Or maybe this will yet another occasion when my genius goes unrecognized…
