Well, yeah.
Reaction is mixed after the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff announced he would like to lift the ban that keeps women off submarines.
The Christian News Wire says no, as does Phyllis Schlafy, bless her heart. Me? I’ve never understood the restriction.

I guess I could get the bit about pollution and the fetus (don’t these things affect male reproductive abilities as well?), but this:
“Military readiness and cohesiveness will be affected, and commanders will have the added difficulties of harassment and fraternization to deal with, which are inevitable in this situation of confined quarters with extremely little privacy”
is just the kind of thing that has been thrown at having gays in the military, or blacks in the military, or — I dunno — people with odd last names in the military. Instead of keeping these people out, authorities should concentrate on teaching those who MIGHT consider harassing how to be grown-ups.
It’s always the victim’s or potential victim’s responsibility, tough, isn’t it?
