Roeder says an eye for an eye

Scott Roeder at his trial for the murder of abortion doctor George Tiller

Scott Roeder, accused killer of abortion doctor George Tiller, said in court yesterday that he has no regrets about shooting Tiller to death last May, because “abortion is murder,” and he decided to take what he considered to be justice into his own hands. Said Roeder, in a Wichita courtroom:

There was nothing being done and the legal process had been exhausted, and these babies were dying every day. I did what I thought was needed to be done to protect the children.

  1. If the court falls for this, they better start handing out pistols and cowboy hats.

  2. I haven’t read the article yet, but on Fresh Air the other day Terry Gross interviewed Devin Friedman who wrote “Savior vs. Savior” for GQ:

  3. “Two wrongs don’t make a right.”

Unless, of course, you’re Scott Roeder.
At least the judge threw out the manslaughter defense and refused to allow testimony from Kline and Disney.
Now all we need to worry about is whether the jury will attempt to nullify Roeder’s admitted premeditated murder.

    • To me, he said quite a few times he’d gone to Tiller’s church with the intention of killing him, and that he’d planned other attempts, as well, like going to his house. If that’s not premeditated, I wasted a shit-ton of time watching Perry Mason. Excuse my French. Merde-ton.

  4. Well, then I guess the next item on the to-do list is killing Roeder, eh?

  5. To protect ob/gyns everywhere, yep.

  6. “Who’re you callin’ Christian, bub?”

    Hey, that’s MY line!

    Or smell.

  9. Speaking of biting, a New Hampshire woman wrestled a rabid fox to the ground and held it there while help was summoned. The fox did not survive, but the woman is fine. We are made of tough stuff here in NH. (Notice I said “we”?)
