State and local workers earn less than people in the private sector, and the gap is widening.

My wife is a state employee, our older daughter a Federal employee, and our younger daughter a county employee.
At least my wife got last Monday off. Confederate Memorial Day in Alabama.
How’d she celebrate?

I used to get a Christmas bonus, back around the time Christmas first started.
