LOL,, that remind me of my dog! If I feed him just before I leave for work, he sometimes pick up his food bowl and bring it to front door and then DUMP his food on the floor for me! I am amazed that he hasn’t thought of doing same for his water bowl yet!
When our first daughter was a baby, when finished with her oatmeal or whatever, she would very politely pick up her bowl and dump the contents on the nearest lap.
At age 37, she’s outgrown that now.
Oh Jay, I remember my older kid doing same thing. By the time the 2nd kid came along, I wised up.
My wife and I quickly learned to keep an eye on her whenever she was eating, and to be ready to grab the bowl or plate at any moment.
When I was a kid we had a houseful of cats and used to feed them outside in the summer. Blue Jays would often steal food out of the dishes with 4 well fed kitties watching sleepily.
Because those cats knew where their next meal was coming from, probably.
A former co-worker heard her dog barking loudly. She looked out and saw said dog rowfing and lunging at a raven that was flopping around with a broken wing, just out of reach. While the raven flopped and the dog lunged (nearly choking itself on the chain), another raven was eating out of the dog’s dish.
But that wasn’t the best part. The best part was when the birds SWITCHED PLACES! The injured raven was miraculously healed (thank you, Jesus!) and the other raven fell down in its place to flop around while its compadre helped itself to kibble.
Deb said she couldn’t bear to interrupt. It was just too damn funny.
That raven pair would put the TV “heal!” evangelists out of business!
That is my favorite dog-raven story, ever. I’d heard these were pretty smart birds.
