About that stop and frisk thing…

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg recently visited a black church in Brooklyn to tell members there that his city police’s stop-and-frisk tactics are here to stay.

Are there any law enforcement people out there who’d like to weigh in? The concern is that “stop-and-frisk” is just a kinder, gentler way to stay “racial profiling.”

But here! Take a survey from The Root.

  1. ACLU android phone app records stop-and-frisk.

Bloomie’s “mend, not end” promise will do to racial profiling and community relations what banning Big Gulps will do to obesity.

It’s sad that when people hear “New York’s Finest” nowadays they think of a deli in West Covina, California

    • How excellent that the recording is immediately uploaded to the ACLU rather than being retained on the phone. No worries about the video being “disappeared” if the phone is confiscated (despite it being legal to photograph police actions).

      • …AND you can set it to lock the phone immediately after the upload so the app is not “in plain sight.”
