Stunning. Well I guess I don’t (really) need them to pay my mortgage (unless something disastrous happens), but it sure would be nice to help with education, no? And maybe that Great Recession thing?
And tell me again why they need to keep their tax cuts?
You freakin’ Socialist!
Come sit by me.
Well, hell. I was saving you a seat…
Saint Roy Zimmerman:
Yes. I. Am.
That’s cool. Thanks.
[sarcasm]Those 400 households are the backbone of American democracy and capitalism. They create all the jobs that exist. Increasing taxes on those people would make tax revenues plummet and plunge America into a black hole of socialism and agonizing death. Those people earned every penny of their wealth, and the rest of us had nothing to do with their wonderfulness. The roads, telecommunications systems, water and sewer systems, education of the workers they used to generate their wealth, and all the rest of the infrastructure (including fire, police and military protection) that they relied upon to build up their wealth is, frankly, their God-given right.[/sarcasm]
Let me pose an example…. Sandy Weill. I don’t know if he is one of the 400 or not, but could somebody please tell me what Sandy did to deserve the huge paychecks he got?
“Those people earned every penny of their wealth…”
Yeah, and I love David Koch’s explanation of getting started: “I worked hard and then my father left me $300,000,000 [paraphrased].”
