Free Bibles for Penn. legislators

The Pennsylvania General Assembly recently bought 220 Bibles — $13,700 in taxpayers’ money — for legislators. This, as you might imagine, raised a few eyebrows, but my favorite quote came from the founder of “By the time you arrive at this station in life, you shouldn’t need the taxpayers to pay for your moral boarding pass.”

Moral boarding pass. I like that. Still, in the interest of embracing our multi-faith culture, it is encouraging that one of the legislators — who isn’t a Muslim — ordered a Qur’an instead, because he said he’d always wanted to read one.

Now how many of them actually read their Bibles…

Oh, wait. Sorry. My judgmental slip was showing there for a minute. Excuse me.
