The much-acclaimed actress just won a $40,000 libel lawsuit against Britain’s Daily Mail for saying that she didn’t lied when she said was not exercising during actor-award season.
“I strongly believe that women should be encouraged to accept themselves as they are, so to suggest that I was lying was an unacceptable accusation of hypocrisy,” says Winslet, who also won damages in 2007 against a British magazine that claimed she visited a diet doctor. She donated the money to an eating disorder clinic.
In 2003, Winslet cried foul when GQ altered her image (as seen above).
