I liked this comment from Matt Stanford:
“While all of these facts give cause to outrage, what’s particularly concerning is that while it would cost just $30 billion to address world hunger, we spend nearly three times that amount every year on our illegal war in Iraq, in many ways leaving more people hungry (or worse). Imagine the allies we would have if the U.S. single-handedly funded the end of global hunger. Not only would our foreign policy be far cheaper than the $1.6 trillion we expend each year in the name of “national security,” but we’d actually be a lot safer because of such generosity.”
Thanks for sharing Matt Stanford’s comments. War is the most destructive thing on the face of the earth. No one comes out whole.
The most egregious, by far, is that world hunger is now a solvable problem and we haven’t fixed it out of laziness and selfishness.
Oh, and don’t forget Diplomacy and Sensitivity to Our Allies’ Concerns.
