What can I do about homelessness?

iStock_000006795293Small-300x199Homelessness can seem like such a complex issue that there’s no going around or through it.

But let me boil it down for you: The answer to ignorance is education. The answer to hunger is food. The answer to homelessness is homes.

And while you may be moved to write a check or support a cause, here’s a chance where you can actually get yourself involved in ending homelessness in Connecticut. The recent snow postponed the 2015 Point in Time count (a kind of census among people who are homeless) to Feb. 18. Coordinated by the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness (I’m on their board!), the effort needs volunteers. You’ll be trained and you’ll be contributing heavily, because you can’t fix what you can’t see.

  1. I may be able to help, now that it’s been moved to 2/18! I’ve never done this, but I’m willing to pitch in. I emailed for more details on training date etc. Thanks for sharing.
