A pregnant woman who goes by the name of “Mary” (see what they did there?) says she plans to test the Hobby Lobby decision because the state’s 72-hour waiting period is a hardship for her. She is supported by area Satanists because:
As a religion, the Satanic Temple argues, its adherents could claim that state laws restricting access to abortions are undue burdens on their religious beliefs.
Might a judge agree with her? Missouri, a state with 6.1 million residents, has just one abortion clinic. This effort is part of the Satanists’ larger push against the religious exemption ruling from 2014.
You can read more here. You can read the Satanists’ religious exemption here.

Is scientism religion?
Is humanism scientism?
Is humanism religion?
And thus we wade into a muck pool. Who’s to say? We’re talking about freedom of speech v. hate speech in my class today. It’s not the same thing, but I figure the conversation will be equally mucky.
I think hate speech is is more clearly defined than religion…legally speaking, anyway.
So far, yes.
