RIP, Glenn Ford, who was innocent but jailed, anyway

635607393822501256-01Glenn Ford, of Louisiana, spent almost 30 years in jail for a crime he did not commit. He was released last year, and died of lung cancer last month. Here’s more sad:

The state of Louisiana gave him $20 for a bus ride home from prison but has denied him further compensation under the state’s wrongful conviction compensation statute, the Innocence Project New Orleans said.
