I didn’t watch the debate.
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus wrote afterwards, “One of the great things about our party is that we are able to have a dynamic exchange about which solutions will secure a prosperous future.” Except when they can’t. Which apparently happened last night, according to Priebus. He blames CNBC. Trump called the moderators nasty. Christie called them rude.
“Vapid” was one word used to describe the event.
Mets @ KC was infinitely more interesting, I’m sure. Especially in the “dynamic exchange” department.
The Mets v. Royals WAS more dynamic, from what I could tell, though you won’t find many Mets fans saying that. 7-1. Yikes. I thought I’d be torn between trying to figure out how to listen to the debates (I don’t have cable, and CNBC didn’t live-stream because how important is this to the Republic, anyway?) and keeping up with the game. I wasn’t.
I really didn’t expect Cueto to come away with a two hitter…or a complete game. I really didn’t expect Mets pitching, especially deGrom, to give up 10 hits…even against the Royals.
And I didn’t expect the Mets to have so much difficulty on defense. They’re in a big hole now. They’re gonna need another miracle to climb out of that one.
I’m glad my money’s on the AL. But I do have a soft spot for the Mets.
I think the debates would be more interesting if they used an equal mix of questions from their own party, the opposing party, and the public.
That’s actually a great idea.
