A Kenyan Muslim who shielded Christians from an attack by members of the terrorist group al-Shabaab in December has died of his wounds.
In an interview before he died, Salah Farah said this:
“They told us if you are a Muslim, we are safe. There were some people who were not Muslim. They hid their heads,” he said.
However, he recalled to Kenya’s The Daily Nation that people were told to separate but they refused.
“We asked them to kill all of us or leave us alone.”
Explaining his actions, he told Voice of America earlier this month that “people should live peacefully together”.
“We are brothers.
“It’s only the religion that is the difference, so I ask my brother Muslims to take care of the Christians so that the Christians also take care of us… and let us help one another and let us live together peacefully.”
In the same attack, Muslim women gave their hijabs to men, to protect them. I don’t know, brothers and sisters. Sometimes the humanity just swallows your heart.

I was really struck by the courage of this man, performing an incredible feat outside the view of most of us. He just did it.
Hollywood should make a movie on this man and this story. These stories need to be shared on the big screen (just saying). I mean it should be widely released, not just go straight to Netflix.
I agree entirely. Having watch most of the Oscar nominees, I’d prefer for the most part to see this story.
