  1. This is interesting. The NYT’s Brandon K. Thorp watched all 28 films that the Academy saw fit to nominate Black actors and actresses to find out “What Does the Academy Value in a Black Performance?”

    One thing is, apparently, a White director.

    1. Kind of sad. I’m not sure the panel I was on advanced the conversation that much, but I learned stuff.

      1. It’s a strange culture…the awarded elite.
        This year’s controversy has illuminated…again…how Old Hollywood’s foundations persist in that sphere of contemporary/commercial art.
