  1. I see SCOTUS has declined to take up Shew v. Malloy next session.
    I have some mixed feelings on that. On one hand, a review might have clarified how earlier rulings pertaining to “unusually dangerous” and “in common usage” could apply to certain restrictions on semiautomatic firearms, possibly paving the way for some effective national legislation. On the other hand, it could easily have gone the other way: more cryptic and politically motivated interpretations that just cloud the issue even more…or worse.

    So…all things considered…probably a good move. Especially for Connecticut.
