The Court said, in a 5-3 vote in Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt, that the state of Texas had placed an “undue burden” on women who seek an abortion in that state. The state did so by requiring

doctors who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals and forced clinics to meet hospital-like standards for outpatient surgery.

  1. One for the Win Column. Not a death blow to these types of laws by any means, but a strong reaffirmation of women’s rights and the necessity of accountability for those rights…all of them…within legislation.
