I’m a little disappointed the story stopped where it did. I’m wondering if Alex or his mother took any legal action against the officers involved…filed complaints, sued or whatever.

The police officers involved in the case were Officers Kevin Devine, Ricky Nixon, Tiffany Middleton, and Corporal Randy Murr. Nixon and Middleton continue to serve with the department.[21][22][23] In September 2013, the department fired Officers Ricky Nixon and Kevin Devine for lying during the investigation.[24] The two were later reinstated by the Denver Civil Service Commission.[25]
