Those oppressed by Capitalism, the markets’ answer to Divine Right, have no New World to escape to..save for ideology. Trump’s nationalism, (nothing new really), represents a reformist answer for many people across class divides. It represents the hope to escape oppression…express ressentiment…escape immiseration. Just like Sanders’ bourgeois reformism, (again…nothing new), does with “progressives.”
Some day, Americans will grow weary of doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.
