Military service members on active duty spent $24 million in food stamps at military commissary shops from September 2014 to August 2015, and 45 percent of students in schools run by the military are eligible for free or reduced-price meal programs.

  1. The people who don’t understand the scope of the problem is Congress and the Commander-in-Chief.

    Or maybe they do and just don’t regard it as a problem. That’s probably about it. Because when it comes to shameful? Congress. White House. There’s your picks of the litter in there. Especially when it comes to how we treat our military.

  3. Not a problem. When they leave the military they can go to work for Walmart and get what they need from the food donation box in the employee break room. What a country.
