(Or, for those who don’t celebrate, Happy Day You Really Should Take Down the Outside Lights!)
Three Kings Day traditionally honored the three magi — Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar — who followed the star to Baby Jesus, and brought him expensive gifts because they knew this wasn’t just an ordinary baby.
The day is a big deal among some Hispanic cultures. The Three Kings Day parade in Hartford is a must-see (sometimes with a real, live camel!)
My favorite tradition is the rosca de reyes. What’s not to like about a little baby doll baked inside a cake?
After baking a little doll at 350° for a half hour or so doesn’t it get a little…well…gnarly?
Maybe it’s a Three Kings Day miracle!
