Oh, irony! Thy name is Bosnia.

The Guardian has an interesting story outta Missouri (saLUTE!) about how Bosnian immigrants might turn that swing state blue. As with so many immigrant groups, some of the rhetoric that has passed for conversation during this election has moved people to register to vote — some for the first time.

On being grateful…

Today, in my month of stopping and thinking about why I’m grateful, I am grateful for warm fall days that appear unexpectedly, out of the blue, and let us shuck our coats, face the sun, and think for a moment of the summer-just-passed. It was a nice summer, wasn’t it?
