The people at Conservapedia (Wikipedia for right-thinking folks) are taking on the Bible as their latest project, and editing it back to what they insist are its conservative roots (though how far back they’re going to find said roots is up for grabs). I can’t seem to get a link directly to the people behind the effort, but this makes it sound like God’s editors believe Jesus didn’t mean to dwell so much on love and peace, and probably meant to talk more about hellfire and Satan.
We wish the folks at Conservapedia great luck with their endeavor. Just editing down the references to love in Jesus’ sermonsĀ could take years. And bless their hearts. And thanks to Sherry and Susannah for the link. Pick up your DJ correspondent checks at the door.
I like the original Aramaic myself, though I don’t understand a word of it.
My own personal 1200-page cheat sheet to the book is this, other book.
Have you ever seen the Bible for Dummies? That one’s pretty good, too.
I have not seen the Bible for Dummies.
Do you have any idea how difficult it is for me not to swing away at a hanging curve like that?
It’s low and outside and you’re not swinging. I think that shows massive restraint on your part, friend.

I had trouble finding a source page myself but found the above this morning. It’s a page within the Conservapedia. Warning, the website itself will require any good Liberal to take anti-nausea meds before opening!!
Everyone: Consider yourself warned. And thanks, Sherry.
dj, you could publish your Bible stories from the $.25 per page days to counter their efforts. Do you still have those?
I’m surprised that these conservative church folks think it’s ok to mess with God’s words like that.
You’re right! Had those survived (I don’t have them, if any one else does let me know), I could have just slapped them up as a counterpoint.
