So rattling around Manchester, Vermont, (but mostly rattling around the wonderful Northshire Bookstore), we stumbled across this display.
Honest to God, I thought about this all the way home. I brought two coats, one for snowshoeing/sweating in, and one to wear around town. It was 9 degrees. My windshield wiper fluid froze, which made driving the backroads really interesting.
This display — set off to the side on Main Street — made me wonder how many people have no coats, while I had a surplus. And what a simple idea. Need a coat? Take one. Want to help? Leave one.
WHAT? No means testing? Isn’t that against the law or something?
I know! I stood there and shouted, “For SHAME!”
…or drug testing?
[Giggle.]
Shouldn’t we always be trying to take care of each other like that?
I’m seriously not religious, and generally have little respect for people who claim to be Christian when they don’t act like it, , Meaning most Republicans who claim to be Christians. Thing is, folks who fall into that category simply do not pass Christ’s own test…….Which regarding each other is the Golden Rule.
If you really know your Christian stuff, you will know what I refer to. If you are a fake, as most “Christians” are, you will not.
I await the response.
